Trial Bay Gaol Camp Ground Information

Trial Bay camping ground is located on the shores of Trial Bay, facing west across the bay to South West Rocks. You can view sunsets over the water from your camp site as well as watch whales swim by from June to November. The beach is 5 to 100 metres from the camp ground.

Getting there: The campground is 5km east of South West Rocks. Follow the signs to Trial Bay Gaol Ruins and Camping Ground.

Facilities: 103 unpowered camp sites, 13 powered camp sites, picnic tables, wood barbeques, an electric barbeque, powered amenities block, flush toilets, hot showers (coin operated, 20c coins are required), cold showers, drinking water, public phone as well as an on-site licensed restaurant/cafe/kiosk.

Wheelchair access:
There are some accessible campsites here, with swimming nearby. Wheelchair-accessible toilets and showers are available in 2 amenity blocks.

Campground Regulations.

Check in 2pm, Check out 10am.
Campers must report to the Trial Bay Gaol office before occupying the site, failure to do so will void booking.
Late arrivals: If you have a booked site please set up on the site and report to the office by 9.30 am. Failure to do so will void your booking;
Late arrivals without a booked site may set up in the overnight area only and report to the office by 9.30am.
The camp site entitles the camper to erect one tent or caravan and annex, plus parking for one vehicle and trailer. Extra people and vehicles incur further charges.
Tents and caravans must be at least 1.5 metres from site boundaries in accordance with fire regulations.
Ropes, clothing, towels or any camping ,fishing equipment must not be attached to trees.
Campers must supply their own cooking facilities and fuel, which must comply with Australian standards. Campers are not to use BBQ’s as permanent camp kitchens.
Only use fireplaces provided and observe all total fire bans.
N.B. Portable outdoor fireplaces are not permitted.
Domestic animals are also not permitted.

No refunds for early departure.
All noise to cease by 10pm.
No amplified music.
Drunken, offensive or anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and offenders will be asked to
leave the park, with no refund.

Licensed commercial fishers operate on Trial Bay beach using beach haul techniques at certain
times of the year. Under NSW Fisheries Act they have right of way over other beach users in some
circumstances. Your co-operation is appreciated.

 

 

NSW and QLD School Holidays-seven day Saturday to Saturday block bookings only.
Occupiers of sites during school holidays have first option to rebook for the same period next year. The
rebooking must be done during their stay. Sites are not transferable between persons, ID required at time of booking and confirmation of ID upon arrival. Non compliance will void booking. Deposit for bookings is required, equal to one week’s adult rate, within seven days of the booking . Failure to pay the deposit will void the booking.
Cancellations must be made in writing at least 30 days prior to arrival date and will incur a $50
cancellation fee. Cash refunds cannot be made.
